Reconstruction of the workers' memorial
Installation and intervention for Plainpalais in Geneva, Switzerland, 2008
Installation at La taupinière | 6 transparent prints, 114x65 cm each | Car with megaphone

Reconstruction of the workers' memorial  proposed the rebuilding of a fictive memorial for the contemporary working class of Switzerland on Plainpalais in Geneva. The project used the real and actual political facts concerning the current workers affairs in Switzerland and presented them in form of "the learning piece" - six transparencies mounted in six light windows. The installation proposed the workers' memorial (that never existed in Geneva) to be rebuild in form of a paper scale model. The car with megaphone drove through the city on the day of the opening of the installation and announced "the opening of the memorial's construction site". The car with megaphone continued to play music and speaches during the opening and served as a part of the installation.

Reconstruction of the workers' memorial
questioned the way the history is represented and frozen in monuments and memorials and the way they are used for the political propaganda purposes. It also served as a contemporary form of art for the workers.
