Het Is Zo Fijn Dat Wij Hier Niet Meer Over Politiek Hoeven te Praten, 2013

In the Dutch version of the project, Het is Zo Fijn Dat Wij Hier Niet Meer Over Politiek Hoeven te Praten, staged at Amstelhoven in Amsterdam and later shown at the Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amstredam, the slogans were concieved with the help of a group of Dutch citizens during a meeting held at BKB, a Dutch political campaign office.
The aim of this meeting was to identify political taboos in The Netherlands. After the discussion, most of the participants concluded that “there are no political taboos in The Netherlands”, and that “Dutch people live in freedom, peace and prosperity”. This consesus set the general tone of the project. The slogans that emerged from this session were positive and affirmative, reflecting the dominant, deeply rooted and widely accepted values assumed by society. Among the eleven finally selected were: “We live in the human rights paradise,” “Finally, Indonesia is not a subject anymore” and “We did what we could in Srebrenica”.
